School Security

Thomlinson Junior School place paramount importance on the security and safety of the students in its care.

Children may only enter and leave the school via two gates leading into the playground which are locked when not fully supervised. The Main Entrance is the only way in which members of the public may enter the school itself. If they move in beyond the Reception Area and Offices they will be supervised at all times.

The school uses a sign-in system called InVentry to safely manage staff, pupils and visitors. All staff and visitors are required to sign in and out of the building, as well as children who may arrive at school after registration is closed or need to leave before the end of the day. In the event of an emergency, this allows us to have a comprehensive record of who is or is not in the building at any one time.

To enhance our security, we also have CCTV cameras positioned both outside and inside the school building.

Please refer to our GDPR page (under Additional Statutory Policies) for more information on how this data is stored.

Importantly, whilst the front drive area is out of bounds to students during the school day, we ask that NO vehicles, other than officially recognised school transport (including minibuses and taxis carrying students) enter the school gates when our pupils are moving through the area, before 9.00am and after 3.15pm.
