Morning Routine

Our start time for all year groups is 8.40am (children should not arrive before 8.30am). The school is unable to supervise or take responsibility for students arriving before this time.  Upon arrival in school, children should walk to their classrooms where they will be met by their teacher and/or teaching assistant.  

Daily Routine

The total time this equates to in a typical week is 32.9 hours.  

School times - September 2023

In September we will be slightly adjusting our school timings. Our School Playground will open at 8.25a.m.  The school doors will then open at 8.30a.m. children can enter the school and go to their classes. Your child should be in school by 8.45a.m. this is our official start time.  Once in the classroom teachers register the children, registers are closed at 8.50a.m.  Any child not in school by 8.50a.m. are classed as ‘late’ and this is recorded on our school registers and can affect their overall attendance. Our school day will finish at 3.20p.m.

Crossing Patrols

Although responsibility for children travelling to and from school lies with the parents, School Crossing Patrols are in place morning and afternoon on the High Street, outside the school, and in West Street, close to the High Street junction to help ensure the safety of students on their way to Thomlinson Junior School.  Where possible, parents will be notified via our Facebook page and/or Class Dojo when the crossing patrols are not available.  

School Buses

Being a school in a rural town, Thomlinson Junior School has a number of children attending from outlying areas. School buses are provided for these students at a minimal fee. Under certain  circumstances this transport is available free of charge.
