Admission Arrangements
Children who will be transferring from Wigton Infants’ and who form the bulk of our Year 3 intake, have the opportunity to visit Thomlinson Junior School for a special induction day in July during the run-up to joining us permanently in the Autumn.
Local parents and carers with children expected to join in September will also receive a personal invitation to visit the school during the Summer Term.
Those whose children live outside the normal catchment area, and any parents and carers who wish to discuss a potential admission personally before making a decision, are most welcome to arrange a special visit to Thomlinson Junior School with their child.
The school’s maximum year size is 60 students, with an annual admission of 60 into year 3. Admissions are governed by the Cumbria Admissions Policy, with priority given to students joining Year 3 or taking up any spare places in Year 4, 5 and 6 being based on the criteria set down within this policy (see link below).
