PTA

Thomlinson Junior School have a Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which is an organisation of parents and staff.  Its role is to encourage closer links between home and school.  Our PTA work together to raise money for our school and organise events for our children, such as discos.

 

Fundraising events also provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils get together.

 

Recent Events and Fund Raising:

Events:

  • Film Night for Years 3 and 4.  Profit £431.91
  • Film Night for Years 5 and 6.  Profit £295.18
  • Christmas chocolate squares to win chocolate and sweet bouquets.  Profit £295.18
  • Glow Disco.  Profit £1,059.92
  • Stall selling Mother’s Day gifts.  Profit £425.98

How we have used the money raised:

  • Each class received £20 each as a Christmas present
  • Digital cameras for whole school use £750
  • Bought canvases for World Book Day art £247
  • £1,500 to be donated for OPAL wheel zone
  • £1,000 towards new audio visual equipment for the hall

 

Upcoming events

  • Easter Homework creative task.  Easter Egg prizes for each class.
  • Film Night for boys (25th April)
  • Film Night for girls (9th May)
  • Father’s Day stall for children to buy gifts (June 2024)
  • Summer Fayre (July 2024)

 

As a school, we would very much like to thank the PTA and Mrs Wilson for all their hard work organising these events and raising money for such amazing things in school!
