Extra-Curricular Activities

During lunchtimes and after school Thomlinson Junior School has a variety of interesting, exciting and enriching clubs and special activities organised by our staff in their own free time for the  benefit of our students.

Involvement in these activities is purely voluntary, though parental permission is usually sought for obvious reasons if they are out of school hours. Extra-curricular activities usually on offer include:

  • Homework Club
  • Netball
  • Football
  • Cross Country
  • Gymnastics
  • Dance
  • Cricket
  • Choir
  • Art and Craft Club
  • Gardening Club

Other extra-curricular activities often also arise, dependent on staff availability and skills, time and personal interests. The numbers of students involved may be limited by supervisory staff  availability, but where possible we aim to make every activity available to every student. Fell Walking, Canoeing, Hockey, Athletics, Badminton and Chess Club are amongst these extra activities, Wigton Gymnastics Club is also based at the school.
